Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton, born Jan. 19, 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn. to a poor family of twelve children who would grow up with them eventually. She learned early how to get out of difficulties through her large and creative imagination. Before she could read and write she was creating her own music. When she was 8 and had the first electric guitar. Then she began singing for the Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. The same year she made her debut album for Gold Band Records an independent small label. While she was at school, she already established herself in the local music scene. However, her goal was to become more acknowledged. After graduating from high school in 1964, she went to Nashville. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated presenter on television at the time, was in search for a woman to sing in his show. Parton began her career in the year 1966. She joined RCA Records in 1968, and the Grand Ole Opry was founded in the year 1969. But she resigned from the show after 1974 because her solo albums like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene had begun charting their collaborative efforts. Parton, after the split of their collaboration with Wagoner she wrote the song"I'm Always Loving You and made it to No. 1 for the very first time in 1974.
