Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She was a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington, an independently-owned liberal news outlet and a TV host an author and charitable donor. Born in Greece and moved to England in the year sixteen. At Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA in Economics. The first non-native English speaking student to graduate, she was voted president of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. After when she graduated, she became an influential conservative syndicated journalist. After a few years later, she founded The Huffington Post which featured critiques of the current political landscape. It was her celebrity that led to the recruitment of a number of well-known contributors to post their perspectives on politics, news as well as culture. Arianna became famous when she made the decision to contest as an independent candidate in the California recall election in order to replace the Governor Davis. Additionally, she led a Detroit project to promote vehicles that are fuel efficient. The project was named 12th on Forbes's list of the most influential female journalists. At the time, Guardian listed her among the top 100 figures in media. In the year 2011, AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post and made her president of the media division, which contained many existing AOL properties too such as Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli was the youngest daughter of Konstantinos journalist father and a management consultant. The couple was close to her father, but it is her bond with her mother that shaped her. From her childhood she displayed qualities of a leader for which she has gained a reputation. The British native moved to England when she was 16, to pursue her education and was enrolled into Girton College Cambridge. During her college days she joined the debating group Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign and third female president. After graduating in 1972, she received a master's degree in Economics. She worked as a critic in the media, as well as host of a television show and a columnist after her graduation. In addition, she appeared together with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing her own books with his editorial assistance.
